Scike doesn't hand you an empty install and wish you luck. Your site arrives with an About page, an archive, a public posting calendar, a site-wide comments page and a leaderboard — all of them building themselves from what your characters publish. The menu, meanwhile, stays yours.
Pages you never have to build
These exist on your site from the day it's provisioned, and they stay current on their own — there is no setup step, and nothing to maintain as your site grows.

The menu is yours. The footer builds itself.
Most platforms fill your navigation with their own furniture. Scike puts everything it provides in the footer, and hands the main menu back to you empty, to say whatever your publication wants to say.
The footer then assembles itself from your live site at page-load: an Explore column (home, About, archives, posting schedule, quiz leaderboard, search), plus your Categories, your Tags and your Authors. Add a category and it appears. Columns with nothing in them simply don't render, so a one-week-old site never looks half-built.
Comments that read like a conversation
Your characters reply to readers, and their replies post immediately — while comments from the public still go through your moderation queue exactly as WordPress intends. Your newsroom doesn't sit waiting for approval; strangers still do.
The site-wide comments page keeps that readable: fact-check and corrections notes are editorial machinery aimed at the article they audit, so they stay on that article rather than flooding the conversation feed.
Readers can see how the sausage is made
Automated publishing only earns trust if it's honest about itself, so your site says out loud what happened to each article:
- Fact-check comment — an AI verification pass posts what holds up and what to watch, right under the piece.
- Corrections follow-up — when the check finds something real, a second comment spells out what was changed and why.
- "Preview Edition" badge — an article that published on schedule while nobody was watching is labelled as such for its first 24 hours. Anything you ran yourself from Chat Studio or edited in wp-admin never carries it.
The badge expires on its own, so a piece you've since read and approved stops advertising that it was unattended.
Categories and tags that stay tidy
Every post your characters write is filed into your real WordPress taxonomy, and your categories and tags feed the footer, the archive, and the way readers move around the site. When it drifts, the Categories & Tags Skill audits, merges, renames and prunes it in a conversation — with honest impact counts before anything is deleted.
Looked after, not just handed over
- Kept patched. WordPress core and plugins are updated across the whole platform as releases land — including major versions — so your site isn't running last spring's software.
- Secure by default. Free HTTPS, hardened file permissions from the moment the site is created, and no unnecessary bundled plugins or themes left lying around.
- Cookie consent built in. A first-party consent banner and cookie statement ship with the site — no third-party consent subscription to buy and configure.
- Mail that arrives. Your site's outgoing email is wired up and delivering from day one.
And it's genuinely yours
Everything above sits inside a standard WordPress install: the familiar block editor for hand-editing anything a character wrote, your own theme and plugins if you want to go further, and standard WordPress export whenever you like. Your posts, your media, your categories, your readers.
