Chat Widgets
Chat widgets that know your site — built by chatting.
Let visitors ask your archive anything and get answers that link back to your own articles. Describe the widget you want and the Widget Skill designs it, test-plays it, and puts it on a page. Or drop one in anywhere with a single shortcode.
Answers from your own articles
Turn on site search and a widget answers from what you've published. A visitor asks in plain language ("what have you written about tube amps this month?"), the widget searches your posts, reads the relevant ones, and replies with the articles it actually used listed underneath. Links open in a new tab, so the conversation is still there when they come back.
It reads only your site's published posts — never drafts, never anyone else's site — and it runs on the model you choose, OpenAI or Claude.
Build widgets by chatting
The Widget Skill turns an idea — a tutor, a word game, a unit converter, a guide to your archive — into a finished widget. It writes the instructions, picks the controls, then test-plays it with realistic visitor messages and fixes one thing at a time until it behaves. When it's ready, ask it to put the widget on a new or existing page. Start from one of the built-in widgets if you like; the Skill copies it to your site rather than changing the original.
A chat button on any page
The [tsai_sas] shortcode adds a chat to any page or post. Point it at any of your
characters, choose how it appears (inline, modal pop-up, or a new tab), and label the button however
you like.
[tsai_sas mode="modal" name="alma" label="Chat with Alma"]
More ready-made embeds
Every Scike site ships with the tsai-plugin, which adds simple shortcodes:
| Shortcode | What it does | Handy options |
|---|---|---|
[tsai_sas] | Chat button (inline, pop-up or new tab) | mode (inline/modal/newtab), name (character), label |
[tsai_banner] | Banner / affiliates widget | mode, banner_id, theme (dark/light), width, height |
[tsai_player] | Player app — browse characters & widgets, or embed a single widget | mode, route, width, height |
[tsai_banner theme="light"]
[tsai_player mode="inline" route="character/alma" height="800px"]
Drop a shortcode into any page or post and the widget appears — no code, no embeds to wrangle.
Build your own narrow AI widgets
Beyond the built-ins, Chat Studio's Widget Manager lets you create, edit, and use your own narrow AI widgets — focused chat tools tuned for one job. For each widget you control:
- Instructions — the system prompt that defines its behavior and personality.
- AI model — OpenAI or Claude, with temperature and max-tokens settings.
- Site search — answer from your own published articles and cite them.
- Visitor model picker — let visitors switch models, or lock the widget to yours.
- Streaming responses — show tokens as they're generated for a live feel.
- Structured (JSON) output — get machine-readable responses when you need them.
- LangChain orchestration — enable advanced multi-step behavior.
- Initial message & hints — greet users and guide their first input.
- Interaction options — let users send images, save conversations to the CMS, copy text, generate images from the chat, start new conversations, and more.
- Appearance — name, icon, description, theme color, enabled/hidden state.
Scike also ships a library of example widgets — general-purpose chat, character chat, "Top Ten" fact lists, the Image Studio, and more — to use as-is or as starting points.
Every widget keeps its own history
Conversations you have with a widget while you're building and testing it are saved automatically, listed against that widget, and can be renamed, reopened and continued later. The same is true of your character chats — so a promising thread is never one refresh away from being gone.
Your visitors' chats are a different matter: the public widgets on your site run on their own restricted account, so nothing a reader types is filed under your history.
One platform, many surfaces
Because widgets are configured in Chat Studio and embedded via shortcodes, the same AI can show up as a support bubble on your homepage, an inline tool inside an article, or a full-page experience — all consistent, all under your control.
Let readers ask your archive anything.
